The Situation

Wendy G. was a teacher; unfortunately, she was also a teacher who had lost her job due to the lack of job availability,  a very small town that was an hour and a half away. The good news was that she had been offered a job as a teacher – in Tucson. But in order to take the job, she would need to move. She was in a classic “Catch-22” situation: she wouldn’t be able to keep the house without a job, and she couldn’t move to take a job without selling the house.

The Problem

The house was in City, a very small town more than 60 miles south of Chandler. City is in the middle of nowhere, with no commercial businesses to speak of; there was a Dollar Store, an Ace Hardware, a small IGA grocery store, and the even smaller “Tumbleweed Market.” Marketing a home in such a small community with so few conveniences is especially difficult, as there are few local buyers, and City isn’t a “destination” spot that many people want to move to.

What Fair Property Buyers Did

Wendy called us, unsure if there was anything we could do with a property that far from , but she had no other options – local or otherwise. We took her information over the phone, and then asked her to take a number of pictures of specific areas of her home for us, and send them to us. We were able to do a market analysis from these pictures, and the information that Wendy gave us over the phone.

The End Result

We were able to assess the value of her home from a distance, without ever seeing it or meeting Wendy in person. Without requiring either an appraisal or an inspection, we made her a cash offer the next day. We sent her the papers by mobile courier, and closed 2 weeks from the day Wendy called us. The sale of her home was conducted entirely over the phone and by emails; we never met her or saw the home, and she never met us, but the sale was seamless, simple, and speedy. It doesn’t matter where a property is, or how far it may be from our office, at Fair Property Buyers, we take pride in our ability to correctly evaluate and honestly assess the value of your property, wherever it is, and whatever the properties challenges may be. We can even help you without meeting you, and – sometimes – without even seeing the property.
